Summer was packed with a mix of outreach and edification activities. We had another baptism! Marie came to visit with a friend (who we are still trying to encourage a study with), and she came ready with questions! After a series of weekly studies, we are thankful for her decision to obey the gospel! Get more details about our 2025 Summer Outreach and Evangelism here.
As summer starts winding down, we wanted to make sure folks got word about dates and times for our next round of fall events!
For those of you who have kept up with us for the past several years, you know it's been a goal of our congregation over the past decade to be a sort of resource hub in the area. We want to provide ample opportunities for the smaller congregations throughout New England to be edified by biblical content, encouraged by new contacts, and empowered with helpful resources to share with their local communities.
This year, we are very excited for the fall season ahead of us.
September - Family Seminar
Glenn and Cindy Colley will be here Sept. 5-7 to present Biblical Answers for the Modern Issues Faced by Modern Families. This event is intended to be an opportunity for nurturing the growth of new brethren, and for building awareness in the community of what the Bible has to offer in the way of practical, real-world help. Many people we have spoken to have mentioned "family difficulties" as a primary concern they have about their community. The Colley family have produced a number of excellent resources on parenting, marriage, and more, and we are very excited to have them out to share some of this material with us.
The scheduled lessons include:
"Help! Our Children are Walking Away!"
"Where Do I Start?" (Parenting Strategies for the Foundation of Faith)
The Lion Roars and He Wants Your Kids.
Alleged Bible Contradictions
Affair-Proofing Your Marriage
"Does God Love Homosexuals, Too?”
"I'm Not a PhD. Can I Help Someone Believe?"
October - Northern New England Lectures
Next, we have the 30th Annual Northern New England Lectures, starting October 10th.
As always, we have a variety of excellent speakers coming out, and we look forward to the fellowship and deep study that always make the lectureship a treat.
If you're planning to come out for the famous changing leaves of New England, this is the time to do it. You'll get the added bonus of an encouraging weekend along with the seasonal beauty of the region.

November - How We Got the Bible
Finally, in November we are pleased to welcome Dr. Denny Petrillo back for a presentation of How We Got the Bible. This is a special treat for us, because we were introduced to this brother while we attended the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver. He was president of the school at the time. We especially look forward to his very straight-forward, easily understood presentation of this material, knowing what a tremendous benefit it will be for our newer converts!
Denny Petrillo has been a preacher, author and teacher, and is one of the premier exegetes in the brotherhood today. His knowledge of the original languages and his ability to teach the exegetical method is unparalleled. He holds a B.A. in Bible (Harding University), M.A. in New Testament (Harding Graduate School of Religion), and a Ph.D. in Religious Adult Education (University of Nebraska). This seminar is an enriching experience, and we hope you'll get the opportunity to join us, or to catch it via livestream online.
If you are thinking about visiting the area, we are happy to provide more information about our events, the local flair, travel tips, etc. to help make your trip edifying and memorable.
